Life in the new house is great! We are SLOWLY getting unpacked and
moved in and really enjoying our new house…that is becoming our home.
We will post some pictures of the house once we are moved in a bit more but
until then, here are some pictures from our week so far…

5. Going to Waumba Land at church for the first time. (this was a BIG moment for mom!)
4. Sleeping in our new house and living out of boxes…okay it’s not a “highlight” of the week but it’s definitely been a big part of our week! Unpacking seems to take 10 times longer with a baby.
3. Amoxicillin… it apparently taste GREAT! Nash fought through his first ear infection this week like a champ and really enjoyed taking medicine.
2. Feeling snow on his face for the first time (and the extreme cold that literally takes his breath away when we step outside!)
1. Officially sitting up like a big boy…at least for a minute or two until he gets tired and tips over.

It’s been a hectic week! We are moving to a new house
just a few miles down the road so it has been a week of packing.
We are sad to leave our friends in Oak Grove, but excited to
move into our new house! More pictures next week once we’ve gotten
settled in!
Some new things about our man Nash…
1. Nash survived his first Christmas and the 10 hour drive to WV.
2. Nash “talks” constantly. He is always making new noises and has gotten very loud!
3. Nash loves his hands and likes to go crossed looking at them. He also loves sucking
his fingers so much that his hand is becoming chapped in the winter air!
4. Nash sleeps from 7 to 7 making mom and dad very happy.
5. Nash enjoys a good meal! He is weighing in over 17lbs already!!
6. Nash sat up by himself for a whole 10 seconds this week!

is still getting used to having in her very neutral colored home.

Christmas came and went all too fast this year.
We have had a fun time in WV with family and friends and
head home to Georgia (where it is warm) tomorrow.

That’s right, Christmas came early this year! Since we are
headed to WV tomorrow we opened the gifts under our
tree to kick off the holiday festivities!
Nash enjoyed his stocking…although he was more interested in chewing on it
than the actual gifts inside it!

The government even sent us gift in the mail…Nash’s Social Security card…

Ah, Christmas time! The stockings are hung,
the excitement is in the air, and we are packing
our car to head ‘home’ to West Virginia to spend
the week with the Hill family! So excited!

Nash experiencing his first white Christmas in WV

So we’ve seen pictures of Bryson as a baby so I
dug up a few of me as a wee one. I’m a little
biased, but I’m thinking Nash looks a bit like
his mama! Or am i just fooling myself?
How sweet it is! Sweet Sixteen weeks that is!
This week has been one for the books…we sold our house
in Oak Grove and bought a home in Oconee County (just outside Athens)!
We have been praying and thinking about it for the last several months and
this week everything just fell into place. We are so sad to leave our sweet
neighbors here in Oak Grove (there isnt a better neighborhood out there!),
but know this is the best move for our family in this season of life.
We also got to hang out with some of our dear friends that we miss from
Atlanta so it was an awesome week!
Oh, Nash is good too (since this is HIS website I should at least mention him!).
He approved of the new house and is excited to learn to walk so he can run
around in the yard and help dad mow the grass.

Nash takes his first ride. (Okay, he didnt actually ride…but he enjoyed
sitting on the Vespa with his dad…and if your dad rode a vespa he would
be your hero too…just like Nash’s shirt says!)
Someone asked me this week if we had a nickname for Nash. Now, nicknames are a funny thing because you might call someone close to you by that name all day long and not think it strange, but when you tell an outsider what that name is it always seems silly. Well, we do have a nickname for Nash…around our house we affectionately call him “potatoes”. Silly we know. “Potatoes” came about when we were deciding what we should name Nash. You see, as a parent it is your job before naming your child is to figure out all the mean nicknames that other kids might call your kid based on their name…”Fatsy Patsy”…”Hairy Carrie”…you get the point. In choosing to name our kid Nash we determined that “Nash Potatoes” might be in his future..and well, we laughed and it has stuck.

Life with the Vogeltanz clan is good. Nash gets more and more fun with
every passing day. He LOVES to be talked to and coo’s and squeals with joy
constantly. We are so grateful he is such a happy baby.
He surprised us this week by rolling over for the first time. Needless
to say it was a big turning point (no pun intended! )
We started a new schedule this week and Nash now goes to sleep
around 7…which is so cool because Bryson and I feel like we have quality time
to hang out together again, just the 2 of us. It also means that we have started
to indroduce the wonderful world of rice cereal to Nash and he LOVES it!
Well, the holiday season is in full swing. We picked up a tree and started
decorating the house. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
We thought about hiking into the forest and cutting down our own tree…but
decided a tree from Lowes would be just fine. It was enough of a challenge to
tie it on the car to get it home! We looked like a 4th grade string art project
driving down the highway.
This was taken right before Nash took his first roll…very exciting.

Nash’s cousins, Jack and Owen, sent him a Baby Bungee which he really
enjoys…and it makes mom laugh!
Bryson took Nash to his first UGA basketball game last week…just the
two of them. Bryson is so good with Nash…
Happy Thanksgiving. Sorry I am a few days late posting new pictures!
We had a great trip to sunny Arizona to celebrate Thanksgiving
with the Vogeltanz family. Nash was a pro traveler! He slept both to and from
AZ on the plane. Awesome! We also enjoyed the perks of traveling with a baby…
we didnt have to wait in any security lines at the airport. That right there is a
reason to have a kid!

We had a great time with Bryson’s Grandparents Betty and Vern who
were visiting from Oregon. Nash LOVED all the attention and Bryson
and I enjoyed having some extra hands take care of Nash for a few days.

After a late night on the town, Bryson and Nash kicked back and watched some Georgia football on Saturday…Go Dawgs…
Then, he helped me with some laundry and that was about all he could take!

It was a beautiful week in Athens, GA…a perfect Autumn week! Nash and I
took advantage of the beautiful weather by getting outdoors as much as possible
during the days and soaking it all in. This is my favorite time of year!

Tonight was a milestone for Bryson and I…we went on our first date without the baby!
I was nervous all day about it (note: I never thought I would be the “nervous mom” type)…I wasn’t
so much nervous about how Nash would do, but how I would do! But it turned out great. Our friends
Bryan and Lara babysat Nash for us and he was in good hands. They are pro’s with babies since they
have a 4 month old of their own…who you will see in the pictures below had quite a little crush
on Mr. Nash. So not only was it a first date for Bryson and I, but Nash had his first date with
a lady friend! Enjoy the photos…

Where has the time gone? I just realized today that I have been telling people for weeks that Nash is 9 weeks old…but he is actually 11 weeks! We are narrowing in on the 3 month mark and life with Nash is getting more and more fun with every new day. We washed a fresh batch of 3 month clothing this week because our boy is getting fat and his clothes tight! Nash also got his first shots this week and did great! It was definitely harder on me than Nash.

What a week we have had! My sweet grandfather, lovingly known as “skinny pap-paw”
went home to Jesus on Sunday morning, so we headed up to West Virginia to celebrate
his life with my family. Nash did great on the 10+ hour drive home (what a week to drive, the mountains
and leaves were beautiful!). It was a joy to be with my family for the week. Here are some pictures…more will follow
